SharePoint 2013 integration use case examples - SSO

This chapter demonstrates using SharePoint 2013 with Ubisecure SSO integration.

Prerequisites:

  • SharePoint is set to use persistent cookies
  • Internet Explorer is used
  • The URL of the SharePoint server has been added to Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer.
  • The client trusts the SSL certificates that SharePoint and AD FS 2.0 provides

Demonstrated use cases:

  • Opening an Office document from SharePoint from a browser
  • Opening an Office document from SharePoint in Word
  • Using Windows Explorer to access files using Open with Explorer

Opening an Office document from SharePoint

  1. User is signed in
  2. User clicks on a document in SharePoint

  3. The document opens in Office.

  1. User starts an Office application

  2. User clicks File → Open, types the URL of the SharePoint server and clicks open.

  3. If the user has not yet authenticated himself, a pop up window opens

  4. Site content opens.

  5. The user navigates to the document he wants to open and clicks it.

Opening a document from the Windows Explorer

  1. User is logged in, he navigates to the library he wants to edit and clicks "Open With Explorer Ribbon"
